To The Ends of The Earth

Jesus promised that a special gift would be sent to his friends from his Father in Heaven. We thought about how it might feel to receive a special gift and how we would feel if we had to wait.

“They might feel excited”

“They would be happy”

Miss Tyrer brought us a special gift and told we would have to wait 3 weeks until we can open it. 

Then we listened to the scripture and then thought about Jesus life. After that we created our own timeline of Jesus’ life.

 ‘When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power. After saying this he went to be with his Father’
Acts2: 8-9

We talked about about how Jesus’ friends felt after he went back to his Father and what made his friends feel happy again.

We talked about why it was important that Jesus friends could speak in other languages. We listened to other languages and looked at words written in other languages to see how different it was to our own.  We then made our own 'tongues of fire' headbands to help us reinact the story.

We were finally able to open our special gift... it was a wind chime! We put this in our outdoor area to help remind us of the Holy Spirit.

‘Suddenly there was a noise from the sky which sounded like a strong wind blowing, and it filled the whole house were they were sitting. Then they saw what looked like tongues of fire which spread out and touched each person there. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to talk in other languages.’
