Communication and Language

This week we used the beebots to help us learn positional language. We practised the words forwards and backwards and even created our own race track!

During our literacy lessons we have been orally rehearsing our core text The Little Red Hen. Children have been volunteering to play the characters and learning the repeated refrains from the story.

After finding blackberries on brambles when playing outside Miss Tyrer bought some from the shops for us to try. We had a feel of the berries and noticed they were ‘squishy’. Miss Tyrer told use that they were made up of little spheres. We then ate the fruit and used some lovely words to describe it such as ‘sour’ and ‘yummy’. Miss Tyrer taught us some new words such a tart and bitter and explained that it can mean it’s a sharp taste.
