  • Consultation to Lower the School Age of St Bede's Catholic Primary School

Mon 22 Feb 2021 Louise Swarbrick

    Background

The Governing Body of St Bede’s Catholic Primary School wishes to lower the school age to 3 years from 1 September 2021. This will replace the current Section 27 Nursery arrangement.

    The Proposal

The Nursery provision will continue to be for twenty-six places (full time equivalent) with children admitted the term after their third birthday. Places will be available to families in receipt of free childcare through the government’s Extended Childcare Offer. There will be an admissions policy to co-ordinate the allocation of places.

The school’s reception class admission number of 30 will not be changed as a result of this proposal.

    How to Respond

The Governing Body of St Bede’s Catholic Primary School want to ensure that parents and any other interested parties have sufficient opportunity to give their views. You are invited to submit comments in writing about the proposal above to: The Chair of Governors, St Bede’s Catholic Primary School, Preston Road, Chorley PR6 7EB

Alternatively you may wish to e-mail: bursar@st-bedes.lancs.sch.uk

Please submit any comments by 22 March 2021.  The Governing Body will meet in the Summer term to consider the formal ratification of the change.

  • Guitars for Cuba

Fri 22 Mar 2019 Louise Swarbrick

On Thursday the Year 3 guitar group handed over eight guitars to Ian Mountain from an organisation called Play for Cuba. Due to restrictions in Cuba, it is difficult to obtain instruments such as guitars and brass instruments. We had a number of guitars which had been left by former pupils. We thought that this was a good way to help children less fortunate than us.
