English

This half term, we have been learning about the water cycle in our geography and science lessons. Here are some of the non-fiction explanation texts we produced in our English lessons.

WORLD BOOK DAY 2022

Today, we live streamed an event delivered by the author Jen Carney. She described her journey to becoming an author and we joined in some fun activities as she promoted her new book in the B. U. G. Series. We got to eat biscuits in class and scrape the filling out with our teeth. That was fun! We also live doodled with Jen, drawing our own cool hedgehogs.

Later, we went on to design a book cover for our very own stories that we had written in class. We tried to think of a catchy title that would entice people to read our book. Our images on the front cover gave clues as to what our stories were about. We wrote a blurb on the back too, remembering not to give too much of the story away.

We brought our favourite books into school to share with each other.

We won a Maths Quiz book as a prize for entering the photograph competition for International Mathematics Day 2022.
