In Reception, we have been practising our chopping skills as part of our learning. We read the story Handa's Surprise and explored the different fruits featured in the book.
Using safety knives, the children carefully chopped the fruits and investigated what was inside, discovering lots of different seeds and stones. ππ±
This afternoon, we enjoyed tasting the fruits and talking about our favourites. It was a wonderful hands-on activity that developed our fine motor skills, encouraged curiosity and helped us learn more about the foods we eat. π 2 Likes
Year 2 have been watering, observing and patiently waiting for 100 days for their potatoes to grow. Today, the exciting moment arrived as we harvested our crop!
The children loved discovering the potatoes they had grown and were so proud to take a few home to cook and enjoy with their families. π±
This hands-on experience really brought learning about where our food comes from to life. It was wonderful to see the childrenβs excitement, curiosity and pride as they celebrated the results of their hard work. πΏπ 11 Likes

The children shared lots of fantastic ideas, adventurous vocabulary, pictures and discussions, which helped them create their own exciting stories about playing football in the World Cup. Their enthusiasm and creativity shone through, and they certainly got their writing right into the back of the net! β½βοΈ
