Homework: 

Reading.

Your children will receive two books on the day stated in their reading journal. They are expected to read a few pages every evening. If your child finishes their book before book change day, please read it again, as this will help them to become more familiar with common exception words. Your children are very welcome to read other books that they have at home.  Please make sure that you are recording when your child has read in their reading journal.

Spellings.

Your child will receive 5 spellings per week from the Year 1 Spelling list. The sheet will be stuck in your child's sharing book. Your child should practise their spellings using the look,say,cover, write, check method. There will be a spelling test on Friday and the results will be recorded in your child's sharing book.

English, Maths and Topic.

Your child will receive either one piece of Topic, Maths or English homework per week. Your child should be able to do this independently as it will relate to learning that has taken place that week (unless otherwise stated). This will be given on Friday to be returned the following Friday.
