Stardust
Our first book that we have been using for our reading and writing activities is called ‘Stardust’ by Jeanne Willis and Briony May Smith.
The children have been working hard to practice a variety of reading skills linked to our class story, ‘Stardust.’
The children spent time sequencing the main events in the story.
We have spent time in class thinking about the main character ‘Mabel’ from our story and thinking about character descriptions.
We spent time thinking about the thoughts and feelings of ‘Mabel’ at different points in the story.
Writing
Moving on from reading, we have continued with the narrative ‘Stardust’ as inspiration for our writing. We are using Jane Considine as a guide to support the structure of our writing lessons.
Our grammar lessons are linked to our class text wherever possible.
