Our first topic this year is Myself. We been learning our new friends names and talking about why our names are important. The children are beginning to recognise that God knows and loves each person - 'Me!'

 

Judaism

During our Judaism topic we discovered that our Jewish brothers and sisters celebrate, Hanukkah - the Festival of Light. We listened to the story of the oil lamp in the Temple and made potato latkes.

Belonging - Welcome

Welcome

In this topic we have been talking about how it feels to be welcomed into nursery each day. We made an 'emotions' chart to help us recognise welcoming expressions. 

We talked about how we are children of God and how God loves us. Then we discovered how to welcome a new baby into nursery.
