Branch 5- To the ends of the earth

As a class we explored the story of Jesus coming to the apostles and then the ascension into heaven. We discussed what made an apostle different to a disciple. The children retold the story through a story board. 

We looked at the passage from the bible and also read the story about the coming of the Holy Spirit. We discussed in detail what the Holy Spirit is. The children created dances to reflect the story of the coming of the Holy Spirit. 

The children looked at a range of different stained glass windows depicting the Holy Spirt and looked at the different symbols used for the Holy Spirt. The children created their own stained glass window designs to depict the Holy Spirit. 

We looked at the scripture from the bible that told the story of the Conversion of Saul. We discussed what the scripture meant and then we looked at the story, 'Saul On The Road To Damascus'.

We read this section from the bible and discussed. We talked about what the fruits of the Holy Spirit where and how we can show and share these gifts as we grow. We read the story The Fruits of the Spirit.

The children identified the different fruits of the Holy Spirt and described how the would show these gifts.
