The Gingerbread Man.
When the children came back from the running track, they found a big mess on the carpet. There were crumbs everywhere! We wondered who could of left the mess and how to find the culprit! One of the children suggested we could check the secret camera! This is what we found!
We noticed that the Gingerbread Men had left us a book so we start to read it straight away. We then decided that we would need to find these pesky Gingerbread Men so we decided to make some posters to display around school.
We started to read the story in more depth, we learnt that the book is a fiction book that has characters and used typical story language such as once upon a time. We had lots of fun acting it out.
We have been showing off our reading skills by building CVC words during our play. We are getting really good at blending the sounds together to read the word.
We have been learning how to write our name in a range of different ways.
This week we have start our phonics lessons. We have been identifying initial sounds, sorting objects, practicing letter formation and playing games such as silly soup!
On Friday's we visit our school library and choose a book that we can take home so we can 'share a story' with our family.
