Summer

Reception wanted to invite their big friends to play with them in the forest. We decided to write letters to our friends and invite them to play. We reminded them what they might need to wear and informed them of some of the games we could play. We also drew maps to help them find our forest school area. We then hand delivered them. We are very proud of our fantastic work!

We have really enjoyed our music lessons this half term.

We had lots of fun at the skipping workshop.

Our caterpillars have transformed into chrysalides. They are very fragile. We have put them in the butterfly habitat. We hope to see our butterflies soon!

Earlier this year we planted some spring onions today we harvested them.

Today we had our first Forest Friday. We enjoyed playing in the sticky mud, building dens and finishing the day with a hot chocolate and a story.

Our caterpillars have arrived!

Miss Hill told us that she had spotted a heron this morning in our forest school area. We used the computers to find out what a heron looked like and why it might be in our pond. We found out that herons like to eat fish and frogs. So we went to see if we could find any frogspawn in the pond.

We have enjoyed the sunshine this week and spent some afternoons on the field. We have played lots of games and loved feeling of the grass on our toes!

This week we have been focusing on vocabulary in our new text ‘Hattie Peck’. We have found lots of eggs in our outdoor area with lots of decidable words inside.
