Nelson Mandela
As part of Black History Month, Year 2 have been learning about the life of Nelson Mandela and his contributions to changes in history.
We learnt about his life through comprehension and this led to lots of interesting questions from the children which we then discussed. We create a class collage of Nelson Mandela which is now on display proudly outside our classroom!
The children developed interesting questions that they would of asked Nelson Mandela if they were able to, considering how he felt to be a black man during that time and how he felt to finally become the first black president after spending so long in prison.
The children worked hard to create acrostic poems that linked to Nelson Mandela's life.
