Following the half term break, we have begun a new unit of work in our English lessons based on the book 'Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp' by Phillip Pullman.
Working from the picture book called 'Flotsam', before reading, the children were given pictures taken from the book. We practised our reading skills - making predictions; answering 'I wonder' questions and used the images to infer meaning.
Flotsam - 6 trays were filled with a mixture of exciting ‘flotsam’ for the class to investigate and generate ideas about who the owner of the items might be and make inferences about the character.
