Local Study of Chorley

(Textile Industry)

 

During this half term, Year 4 will be learning about how the growth of the Lancashire cotton industry affected the town of Chorley; how the industrialisation of cotton manufacturing impacted upon the citizens of Chorley. We will be comparing their working conditions to more modern day, contemporary factories; using primary sources to view mills and mill worker accounts through a local lense.
