The children made there own game of knocking down the tower. We counted how many bricks fell and if they knocked them all down they got a point. Which we recorded on the whiteboard. When then counted the totals to see who was the winner. 

During our maths sessions we have been ordering, subitsing and exploring the composition of 5. We are noticing that the next number is one more.
