Personal, Social and Emotional Development

We always begin our nursery year by creating our Class Charter. A class charter is a set of rules or promises that we have agreed on to help us keep everyone in our nursery happy and safe.

Harold the Giraffe at the team from the Life Bus came to visit. They taught us all about how to keep our bodies clean and healthy by brushing our teeth, doing lots of exercise and getting plenty of sleep.

By carrying out simple tasks, such as preparing their own snack, the children are developing their sense of responsibility and membership of a community.

The children are beginning to extend and elaborate ideas when playing together. Here they are playing ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ in the mud kitchen.

Building obstacle courses and forging friendships - teamwork makes the dream work!
