In phonics this week the children have been developing their awareness of sounds and rhythms. Some of our activities have included singing songs and action rhymes, listening to music and developing a sounds vocabulary. Here we are matching movements to sounds in the nursery garden.
The children have been developing their appreciation and experiences of rhythm and rhyme in speech. Activities include rhyming stories, rhyming bingo, clapping out the syllables in words and one of our favourite games - Silly Soup!
Here we are sharing some of our favourite books. We are beginning to understand that print has meaning and is read from left to right.
