Physical Development

We have been developing our fine motor skills. We have been threading Cheerios on to spaghetti! We had to be very gentle so that we didn’t span the spaghetti.

The children took part in the Paralympic festival. We watched the trailer for the 2016 Paralympics and talked about what the Paralympics is. We then tried out some Paralympic sports such as Boccia, curling and goal ball. It was very tricky!

We used the pumpkins left over from our autumn work to help us develop our fine and gross motor skills.

We have been developing our balance, coordination and our gross motor skills whilst learning to ride a bike. We have navigated through different obstacles and some of use have learnt how to use our brakes!

We are becoming more independent and are learning to develop greater control over our movements. We have been practising how to carefully pour our own milk to add to our cereal during snack time with great care. Look at the concentration!

During our P.E lessons with Mrs Murray we have been learning how to jump. We are practising swinging our arms and ensuring we have 'squashy knees' when we land.

Reception have been mark making on lots of different surfaces this week different areas this week including on the windows! We have been practising how to hold a pen with an effective grasp and adding details to our drawings. Once we had finished we used sponges, squeegees and rollers to wipe it all off.
