Snail and the Whale
This half term we have been look at the narrative 'The Snail and the Whale' by Julia Donaldson, as our class text. We have explored the narrative through our whole class reading sessions and have also linked this text to our writing.
The children have really enjoyed reading ‘The Snail and the Whale’. They have been improving their comprehension skills and we have spent time inferring meaning from the texts about characters thoughts and feelings. We have also spent time exploring new vocabulary from the text.
The children developed their sequencing skills by sequencing the key events from the story.
The children used what they had read to make a prediction on what would happen next in the story.
As part of our writing, the children have been developing their adjectives to be used when describing places and characters.
