Sacramental Programme

Children in Year 4 are invited to prepare for and celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Parish catechists work closely with families to support children on this important step in their faith journey, guiding them as they grow in understanding and deepen their relationship with God.

We are fortunate to have strong links with our parish catechists. A retired member of our school staff serves as a catechist, and several catechists also serve as school Governors. As familiar and trusted members of our community, they are well known to the children and provide a supportive and meaningful connection between school and parish.

St Bede’s – First Holy Communion 2026

Preparation for First Holy Communion will begin in February for children in Year 4. All preparation sessions will take place in St Bede’s Church at 6.30pm and will finish before 7.30pm.

Preparation Dates

Session 1: 26th February

Session 2: 5th March

Session 3: 12th March

Service of First Reconciliation: 19th March at 6.30pm

Session 4: 18th June

Session 5: 25th June

Session 6: 2nd July

The Celebration of First Holy Communion will take place on Saturday 4th July at 11am.
