School Uniform
At St Bede’s, we are proud of our school community and believe that wearing our uniform smartly helps to promote a strong sense of identity and belonging. A consistent uniform encourages high standards, reduces distractions and ensures that all children come to school feeling equal and ready to learn.
Children are expected to wear full school uniform at all times when in school and when representing the school on other occasions.
Sweatshirts, cardigans, polo shirts, reading book bags and PE bags printed with the school badge can be obtained from our uniform suppliers, Monkhouse Sports and Schoolwear. Uniform should display the new school badge.
Uniform can be purchased online or from Monkhouse Schoolwear at their shop in the Fishergate Shopping Centre, Preston. Second-hand uniform is sometimes available from school upon request — please contact the School Office for further information.

Jewellery and Appearance
For health and safety reasons, children should not wear jewellery to school. This includes earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets. Wrist watches are permitted; however, school cannot take responsibility for them and they must be removed for PE.
If children have pierced ears, this should be done at the beginning of the summer holidays so earrings can be removed before returning to school in September.
We aim to keep school free from fashion trends. Hairstyles should be sensible. Extreme cuts, dyed hair or styles deemed inappropriate by the school are not acceptable. Long hair must be tied back at all times in the interests of health and safety.
By wearing their uniform with pride and arriving prepared for the day ahead, our pupils demonstrate respect for themselves, their school and our community.
