St Bede's Catholic Primary School

OFSTED and CSI Links

Our school is regularly inspected to ensure we provide the highest standards of education and care for our pupils. Ofsted inspections evaluate the overall effectiveness of the school, including the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision.

As a Catholic school, we are also inspected under the Catholic Schools Inspection framework, which focuses on the quality of Catholic education, religious education, collective worship, and the school’s Catholic life and mission. Copies of our most recent inspection reports can be found below.

Catholic Schools Inspection

St Bede’s Catholic School was inspected on 10th and 11th October 2024 under the new Catholic Schools Inspection framework.

We are delighted to share that the overall effectiveness of Catholic education at St Bede’s is judged to be Good, with our Catholic Life and Mission recognised as Outstanding.

This report is a testament to the dedication of our staff, governors, pupils and parents, and to the strong Catholic ethos and values that underpin every aspect of our school community.

Inspectors were deeply impressed by many aspects of school life. They commented that:

  • “The Catholic life and mission of St Bede’s is reflected in every encounter and throughout the school, ensuring a real sense of belonging and community which is valued by all.”

  • “Pupils know that they are cared for deeply and who to go to if there is a problem.”

  • “There is a strong sense of community, evident in the quality of relationships and tangible culture of welcome.”

  • “Displays and spaces within school are reflective of the attention and care devoted to its Catholic life and mission.”

  • “Staff are exceptional role models for pupils. They display extremely supportive relationships and their love for the school is evident.”

  • “An effective partnership between home, school and parish creates a community based on Catholic tradition and practice with Christ at the heart.”

  • “Strong leadership ensures all staff are highly aspirational for the pupils in their care.”

  • “Pupils’ behaviour is outstanding.”

  • “Relationships between staff and children are excellent and as a result pupils have a secure understanding that they are cared for and are valued.”

We are incredibly proud that the inspection recognised what we strive to live every day — a school where:

  • Every child feels known, valued and loved

  • Faith is lived authentically and joyfully

  • Strong partnerships between home, school and parish enrich our community

  • Staff model Gospel values in every interaction

This outcome affirms our commitment to ensuring that Christ remains at the centre of all we do.
